PRESENTING A VALEDICTORIAN

If I were a valedictorian, I would like to talk about the special moments that I had spent with every one in the ESL class. I would like to give a brief explanation or just use a couple of adjectives to describe each student in our class. I would also like to tell funny jokes about people in our class, who said some little things that made people, laugh or at least made them feel a little happy. I would describe a little about Mrs. Book, how she helped us in our way and how we became so good English speakers with the help of Mrs. Book.
I would like to give my fellow classmates a little advice to first become a good person then go towards your profession. I would like them to remember this one thing that, “If you want to become something, then first become a good human being”.
If I were a valedictorian I would like to hear a speech that is memorial and that would make people feel proud about their class.I believe that a valedictorian shouldn’t be the person who got the highest marks in our class. I believe that a valedictorian should be the person who believes in himself/herself and is proud of his/her class.

Ecological Footprint

Our earth is suffering from Global Warming and I think I am also one reason for this. Every day each person is doing something to harm the environment. If we worked together we can make this stop. I calculated my Ecological footprint and how many earts would it take if everyone was like me. It takes 2.4 earths if everyone lived like me and my ecological footprint is 4.3 global hectares. I think I use the environment a lot and I need to improve. This is probably because I use a lot of goods and services. I usually come to school by bus everyday and I usually go out with my family on a car just on weekends. Maybe this is because I don't recycle a lot.
To make my footprint smaller I should recycle, try to walk or use buses instead of going in my dad's car. I will also try to produce less garbage. I don't think these things will affect the environment, if only I do it. but if every single person did this we could make a difference and make our earth a better place.

Films and Movies

My favourite type of movie is comedy and adventure. My favourite movies are "Night at the Museum" and "Poseidon". One of them is comedy and the other is an adventure movie. From the first movie I didn't learned a lot but the second movie had a very important lesson in it. It tells us to never give up. This movie is about a ship that gets hit by a big wave and it makes the ship turn upside down. Probably about four people travel through the top of the ship to the bottom where the surface is. In their journey some people die because of lack of air. But they don't give up and they keep going. At last they reach to the bottom of the ship. I think these are really good movies and I recommend people to watch it. Especially the "Night at the Museum". Don't just watch the movie, try to learn a lesson from it.

CURENT EVENTS

Today I read a article about bombings in Iraq. This article is called "Iraq orders arrest of top army officer after deadly attacks" and it was published on April 18 2007 on the website of www.cnn.com. It is written by a CNN reporter named Jomana Karadsheh along with many other CNN reporters. This article gives a breif explanation of what happened in Iraq. Iraq is suffering from serious bombings in the city of Baghdad. In this bombing probably around 198 people died and 240 were wounded. This bombing happened in Sadriya market in Baghdad. These attacks occured the same day British commanders transfered the security control in the southeren provience. This may be one reason why these bombings happened. Another reason is because of weekness of security measures that were put in the Sadriya market to protect civilians. This article is a very good article to pass time and is one way to know about the world.
Secondaly I read another article about a fire in a apartment in Fort McMrray today news. The title of this article is " Fire devastates apartment complex" published on April 17, 2007 by Larissa Liepins. A four storey apartment in downtown Fort McMurray was on fire. Probably 300 residents came out of their beds out in streets. No one got hurt or died in this incident. Around 25 firefighters were handling this incident very nicely. This happened in the morning of 8:15 a.m. A victim explaned briefly what and why this happend. This happened because of people were ignoring the alarm. A victim said that a false alarms a month ago so people didn't pay attention to the alarm. This is a very interesting article because it happened in our own city Fort McMurray and it makes people more alert about this sitivuation.
I recomond people to read these articles and not just look at the pictures but at least read it briefly.

Spring Break

Hi, my spring break is not really fun. My dad's car is at the repair shop and it will not be repared until end of this month. So i don't think I will be going at any fun place. I will just sleep in, watch movies and play vedio games with my brother. And I also have few unit tests after the spring break so I also have to study for it.
I wish I could go to pladium in Toronto. In every holiday me, my dad, and my brother used to go to pladium. Here in Fort Mc Murray, it's so boring. there are no fun places here. And we can't even go to Edmonton to have fun because our car is at the repair shop. Every one is talking about the big water park in Edmonton. But I don't think I can go there. I also wish that I could go to America because my cousin lives there. His birthday is in the spring break. I used to play with him when he was little but I haven't met him from two years. Anyways my brother's birthday is coming up next month, so I will just celebrate with him.
At last even though I can't do all these things but still I think it will be fun.

PLAGRAGISM

Plagiarism is something that most high school students do. I think that plagiarism is just copying someone Else's work and making it yours. Most people plagiarize in high schools and university. But I think now there is website or a software that detects if the person has done plagiarism or not.
I also had a bad experience with plagiarism when I was in grade 8. My English teacher was the most homework giving teacher in my school. One day she gave me an assignment to write a speech on the topic that she gave me. The topic was really hard for me. I even asked the teacher to give me another topic, but she didn't had any more topic. I worked really hard to write the speech. I was lucky that I had my parents to help me. But by mistake I did a mistake by plagiarizing from the Internet. At that time I didn't know that what was plagiarism. And then when I gave it to the teacher I got low marks and she also gave me a detention. From that day I got to know what plagiarism was.
